The Center supports a University curriculum and research agenda by uniting academics and action, classroom and communities through which students, faculty, and community partners dedicate themselves to the transformation of civic life.
The Center for Public Service is committed to collaborative partnerships and programs that promote empowerment, understanding, civility and justice in our communities. We connect our community partners with faculty and students via service learning courses, public service internships, community engaged research, general community service, and many other programs.

Our partners are mission critical. As co-educators, partners offer students practical experience as they apply academic knowledge to community engagement activities. CPS currently partners with over 800 New Orleans based, national and international agencies. These partnerships are designed to be mutually beneficial, supporting university constituents, agency representatives, and the general public.
